I was actually planning to write an entry about how Jovelle and I almost killed our groupmate in our thesis yesterday…. but while waiting for wordpress to load, i started looking at the yahoo news and saw an article with this introduction;
What picture shows a dramatic gold and orange sky and a teenage boy in glasses reaching upward?
Guess what it is all about.
Dang it… the article was about the new cover of my much awaited Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows… the seventh book of JK Rowling’s sooper dee dooper addictive (I bet the papers were made from coccaine leaves) book.
Of course the book will be released this coming July 21st, 2007. And according to the Scholastic’s art director, “For the first time, the cover is a wraparound. On the back cover spidery hands are outstretched toward Harry. Only when the book is opened does one see a powerful image of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, his glowing red eyes peering out from his hood.”
Boy am I excited or what!? The seventh book of course will be the last in the series and until now there are still rumors that Dumbledore is still alive. And noone knows still if Harry will die in the end. I am crossing my fingers for him.
Yes the wait is exciting, since the sixth book was written virtually just to give way for the seventh. Half Blood Prince was filled with information about Voldemort’s past and about the Horcruxes. The cliff-hanger-type ending of the 6th book also adds to the suspensefull feel in the waiting. But nevertheless it is still sad to think that this beautifully written craft is finally coming to its end.

yes indeed it is bittersweet. it will end, yes. but it will live through the ages. harry, ron, hermione, hagrid, dumbledore of course, and the rest of the gang will still resound through the imaginations of our grandchildren and his wand will still flicker through the magical word of literature. j.k. rowling definitely made her mark not only in the world of literature but also in the hearts of all the muggles who dream of going to hogwarts someday. a timeless classic. definitely ipapabasa ko ang mga librong ito sa mga magiging anak at apo ko, kapiling ng babaeng nagpakilala sakin kay harry potter nung ako ay freshman pa sa Jose Rizal Institute.

Is this the book where Harry’s supposed to die? Or am I mixing things up here? Sorry, I haven’t read single Harry Potter book.
