Bian Lagot Kayo!

BeachI was bloghopping when i came by this blog article. It is about the issue of Bian’s uncle buying some antique houses and just recently an antique chapel to be demolished then rebuild inside their resort. The argument was that bian’s uncle is not “a trained restorer”. I was able to read and blog about that article from Philippine Daily Inquirer last December though I did not write the details.

The article says;

The main issue here is not simply the transfer but the fact that Acuzar is actively shopping for old houses, trying to woo the owners into selling their properties to him! How ironic that he mentions Scandanavia where “culture is preserved in structures.” If he was indeed to follow the example he cited, structures should remain where they are, preserved together with the environment they were built in!

I am actually thinking about asking Bian this morning if ever she again plans to take us there. It would be as real fun especially if the rest of our block who didn’t come last time will attend.

PS I love my new template.

    Yes, I heard of this guy buying chapels and old houses and then transfering it to his private garden. Quite a strange idea…

  6. Ivan About Town Says:

    Him not being a trained restorer is not the main argument. These old structures are part of the heritage of the communities they are located in. When you take them away, the community loses part of its soul.
